At the Christmas Day we´ve rendered homage to Charlie Chaplin in the occasion of his Long Goodbuy 32 years ago. Nevertheless Charlie Chaplin is an immortal. So today we celebrate with him his 121st birthday. We are celebrating in the night from the 16th to 17th of April. One day after his 30th birthday he has founded together with Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbank sr. and David Wark Griffith United Artists, the major company we owe countless classic movies.

Friends, we will keep free this evening! We´ve already solved our own criminal cases and have catched the Easter bunny and now we will share the excitement with detective superintendent Nora Winkler!

Zarah Leander was definitely the most glamorous star of the Third Reich. Her most passionate afficionado Paul Sailer has given adequate arguments in his great Zarah Leander archive. Discussion will never end, but, Ladies and Gentlemen, was one of her favorite songs “His name is Waldemar” not already the most charming protest against the race and superman conceit of the nazis? Sorry, I haven´t found a congeniual translation into English. I will try to translate, please have indulgence

No, but this is the sweatheart dog Schnuff of our dear Mrs. T, a very ardent customer. We know dogs and we know that they are totally insensible to scarves even if they are very comfortable, beautifull and made of cashmere. Schnuff is waiting patiently that mommy will open the yoghurt cup and that he will have a good tuck-in.

Today we celebrate the birthday of the great director Luis Buñuel, the surrealistic annalist and narrator of the dreams and nightmares of the 20th century with his famous bone-dry martini

“The day before your guests arrive, put all the ingredients – glasses, gin, and shaker – in the refrigerator. Use a thermometer to make sure the ice is about twenty degrees below zero (centigrade). Don’t take anything out until your friends arrive; then pour a few drops of Noilly Prat and half a demitasse spoon of Angostura bitters over the ice. Shake it, then pour it out, leaving only the ice, which retains a faint taste of both. Then pour straight gin over the ice, shake it again, and serve.”

Gosh, these lyrics are the apotheosis of alliteration. Doesn´t it sound wonderfully? Nobody else than the Rhine daughters can give you a more appropiate sound of the flow of waves. Alas, the daughters of the Rhine are too careless in their task to watch over the Rhine gold because they have no idea that there are blackguards who would disclaim love to get gold and power. And with this crime the Ring der Nibelungen begins.

Wellgunde! Woglinde! Floßhilde! are the names of the daughters of the Rhine. – And now a ver special homage to Richard Wagner. The familey Wist-Wiesigstrauch are true fans of Richard Wagner. After three sons a daughter was born and her name is, please hear, Elsa Isolde. Elsa from Brabant in “Lohengrin” and Isolde. The three brothers will be knights and gentlemen and will escort her younger sister on her ways. What a constellation and combination. We love it.
