Unbelievable that Jean Gabin already passed away 33 years ago. I was a student. I have loved his face a lot, the face of the young Jean Gabin, the face of the old man. His mere presence was enormous. Jean Gabin has played in more than 100 films, only two I will mention now, “The Grand Illusion” (La Grande Illusion) of Jean Renoir (1937), Jean Gabin as Lt. Maréchal and the great Erich von Stroheim as Major von Rauffenstein, and “Le Clan des Siciliens” with the fabulous cast of charactors Jean Gabin, Alain Delon and Lino Ventura!
